Review on Speedball 7.5 Inch Square Universal Pottery Wheel Bat, Blue by Melissa Barnes

The 12” lacks sturdiness. I read lots of reviews of various bats with pin holes underneath (so I can throw plates all the way to edge) and chose this because many people said it was robust and didn’t warp. I used it the first time with a 3-lb ball of clay and could feel all the ridges underneath that are meant to provide support. The plastic was too thin so it dipped slightly between the supportive ridges underneath, making for an awful centering experience. The bat wasn’t warped and the bat pins fit snugly, but the incessant bumping of the ridges against my hand with each rotation made it impossible to use. Would not order again. Hopefully I’ll find some other use for it.
