At first I liked this humidifier so much - very expensive optics, good quality, good parts, good flashers, very quiet, easy to clean, has a smell function , automatic shutdown when the water level is low, intuitive adjustment. Everything, at first I liked it. BEFORE mold and algae appeared non-stop. I first noticed it on the wooden part above. I didn't have time to photograph it. But I cleaned it and then found more mold on the water tank handle that stays INSIDE the humidifier meaning it can affect the water quality. I also noticed red algae on the floor when filling the water tank. I'm not sure how to clean it. But that makes me question the quality of the fog I'm getting. I was also surprised that when designing a humidifier, shouldn't the materials be expected to be more mold resistant? Only after moderate occasional use did I discover mold. For reference, I live in western Massachusetts and used tap water. I'm not sure if the water quality had an impact on this. However, this is a beautiful and awesome humidifier IF you don't mind inhaling mold and algae.
