For many years I was allergic to dust and my dr. The use of an air filter/purifier is recommended. I never had the space or money to get one, so I made several jobs in my room air conditioner. It pulls room air through and then blows out more filtered and colder air. I simply put 2 sheets on the outside of the filter that goes into the air conditioner and the room air drawn in goes through the dehumidifier sheets, then through the air conditioner filter and comes out more filtered leaving a nice soft scent. Perfume air fresheners and all strong aerosol air fresheners are too strong to circulate indoors all the time. These sheets have a very mild scent that never overpowers my bedroom. In any case, I already use the air conditioner year-round (sensitive to heat, but the family needs a stove) so adding these sheets saves me double the electricity by combining one unit for two uses. I discovered this trick when the apartment building I lived in needed exterior brickwork and we were all told not to turn on our air conditioner or it would fill up and be damaged by the dust from cutting the bricks. I placed the dryer sheets in the case on the outside (as opposed to what I currently use on the inside) and this has effectively prevented all of the dust from getting into my device. The fibers are twisted much tighter than traditional air conditioning filters, blocking everything but air that can get through. Some people had to replace their tools this summer because after a month of cutting bricks, the dust was so bad it couldn't be cleaned. Definitely worth buying and it's a multi-purpose item!
