I have a lot of experience with Snapon and OTC scanners and am used to their placement and navigation. I also used an Autel Maxisys 908 in the shop. This is my first launch product. I bought this based on several Youtube techs demonstrating its use and capabilities in the short time they've owned it. After receiving it, I registered it on the network and made all the updates; took about 45 minutes. The date code on the scanner box showed April 2017, so many updates are required to make it work with the latest software. Also, there was a firmware update that was done automatically after I connected to the first car. Today I had the opportunity to play with it on a 2007 Camry XLE 3.5V6 in the shop to see its capabilities. First, the navigation isn't as sophisticated as other scanners, including the Autel 908. Also, for some reason, it didn't automatically determine this car's VIN, and I had to choose from a list of different Toyota DLC configurations. to establish a connection. Little problem. I was then able to run a full system scan and run some bi-directional tests on the body and chassis area and found no issues. However, I have found that this scanner cannot access this vehicle's TPMS system; Nothing is displayed during a full system scan, nor a manual system list of modules. I'm not sure if the TPMS is hidden somewhere in the body system or chassis access, so I'll have to spend a little more time on that. Another nice feature is a "beep" sound when a scan session ends to remind you to remove the VCI. Overall priced at around $520 I think this launch scanner is worth keeping for its depth and features as well as the 2 year ad software update. If my mind changes I will update. Updated: July 18, 2020. I have been using this scanner professionally for almost two years. It has paid for itself many times over and has become my favorite scanner in the shop. It was able to do a few things that our Autel Maxisys 908 couldn't on some cars. I've noticed the price has gone up about $130 since I bought mine in September 2018. I believe there have been some small internal improvements in newer versions of the Diagun IV over the past two years, such as more memory. The battery life is rather weak; should be up to date and stay charged. If I had to buy another Launch product, I'd probably go for something with a larger display like the Diagun x431 V Pro due to the higher price. I just noticed that there is a Diagun X431 V model of the same size but with a newer OS and more memory.
