Review on ๐Ÿšฝ KOHLER K 4775 96: Quick Release Round Front Biscuit Toilet Seat by Stephen Johnson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Simple light weight decent quality seat - Recommendation

I'm a DIY enthusiast and also an engineer/maintenance manager so I can handle most repairs reasonably well. There are two toilets in my house, and I'm sick of the seat in one of them cracking (last straw). I installed one of these Kohler toilet seats a few weeks ago and paid over $30 for it at Home Desperate. When I saw it at Revain for a very low price, it was easy. Delivery was quick and installation was easy. All I needed was a medium sized screwdriver. However, the FIRST thing I did was attach the little diamond bumpers to the underside of the lid. I didn't want to throw them in the toilet water! Then I started installing the seat. Another reviewer warned about the split mounting loop/flange, and he's right on one point - the split flange will come loose if you overtighten the bolt. You just have to press hard as the expanding nut (on the underside of the toilet) grips well. The caps that fit over the bolt head then hold the split flange together so you can easily undo it at 2:30am. In terms of quality, it is an ordinary plastic seat - not heavy, not soft and without a "slow close" function. I would give five stars if everything was there. However, if you are looking for an economical, functional east-facing seat, I recommend the Kohler K-4774-0 Brevia.
