This is a good wallet. Yes, it's thicker because it's a thick skin. All I can say is well made, love the double stitching around the main parts. I bought this to replace an Italian handbag my daughter brought for me from Italy that I had lost. stole and he was only a month old. It's not an Italian leather wallet, I can't afford it but this one seems and looks pretty close and my daughter approved but is still mad at me.
