I am new to extensions. Earlier this year I damaged my hair with bleach and had to trim it a little, although it's coming back the ends are a little thin compared to all of my new growth (which I no longer dye so it's thicker than I thought it would be could) and I have an ombre but I blend the roots to blend the colors. However, I'm in that awkward in-between phase where the length goes past the shoulders but wants it to flip in all the ways it shouldn't. I have several shifts that are also in terrible shape. While I'm doing micro haircuts, it's hard not to get a big haircut and therefore it would take a heck of a lot longer for my hair to grow back. So, to keep my sanity and not cut my hair and let it get past that bad length and style, I decided to try clip on extensions. I first ordered a really cheap set from another supplier. The hair was coarse, brassy and damaged looking, but when cut a little longer than my hair it came together nicely. However, this was my training chassis. For a month I had to figure out how to wear them so that they look more natural, don't stick out, don't slip, etc. Anyway, if I understand these hair clips, if I hate my hair, saving it from so long while growing, I decided to search for better ones and that led me to these. These extensions are beautiful - the hair is silky, shiny, thick, but the strands are thinner - very similar to my natural hair (the parts that aren't as damaged). The clips feel solid and work well. There is enough hair for each duck. They are, in my unprepared and amateurish view of extensions, very good BUT the colors are hard to pick up from the pictures. I returned the first order as the root zone was a near perfect shade of dark ash blonde but the light blonde part was a pink shade that definitely didn't go with my more ash golden hair. I've ordered the next color I'm considering - the ends match my muted blonde highlights quite well, but the root area is too coppery and warm, and again there's a slight pink tint, but more subtle. It kind of goes with my transition color, the color I used to blend my natural shade into a light blonde - it looks like a warm dark blonde, but the extension is definitely redder than my deeper tones, probably because I'm toning mine . to blend into your cooler roots. . Taking your natural roots down to a seventh or eighth shade of blonde can blend really well. I'm wondering if I can customize the root scope of these extensions. I'll have to do some research because if I can color them with a translucent dye by simply smearing some purple-blue toner on the warm root area, they will be perfect. However, the ends are so close to my hair that you really can't see the hot roots of the strands, so I decided to leave them, but be aware that the colors are difficult to see in photos. As my natural roots grow longer and I decide what to do with my color I may have to buy a new set in a different shade unless my hair reaches a divine length when I cross my fingers! They are really good compared to this cheap set that I bought to see if I liked the extensions. I cut mine so it's only 1-2 inches longer than my hair because I don't want it to stand out. When I curl them with a bit of my natural hair, they blend well and look natural. I only ever use 2 ducks at a time, sometimes one on each side if I want. I also posted some photos because I think the photos are very helpful. I looked at every photo posted in the reviews before making a purchase. But only a few people actually said what color they bought. So I hope that my photos are useful for you. My hair isn't as red as in some pictures, I'm showing it from behind, it's just because of the lighting in the room. The remaining photos were taken in natural light from a north-facing window. Hope that helps.
