Review on πŸš— SMARTLINER Custom Fit 2 Row Black Floor Mats - Compatible with 2018-2022 Hyundai Kona (Excludes Electric Models) by Etai Gopala

**WARNING** Perfect fit but slippery rubber

The floor mats match my 2019 Kona perfectly and I love that both front floor mats have holes for anchor hooks. The only problem I have is that the rubber is slippery. For example, we have floor mats from a well-known brand in another car, and their rubber has more grip for better foot positioning. On the other hand, my shoes and feet slip on the Smartliner rubber. Due to the slippery nature of the smartliner, the mat on the driver's side creates the problem of foot fatigue - in fact, you can't secure your heel to the ground because your foot is slipping. I recently did a 4 hour round trip in classic shoes and it was a major annoyance and anxiety because I had to keep changing my heel position to properly brake and accelerate with my foot. I also had trouble using my legs to push off the mat to change my sitting position (I had to use my hands to push off the armrest instead). These mats are potentially a major safety hazard if you don't have and are not aware of grippy shoes. It hasn't rained yet, so I haven't had a chance to test how they perform in wet weather, but first-time test-drivers should wear shoes with good grip (e.g., trainers). I highly recommend the manufacturer replace the rubber used for these mats. If this is not possible, they should convert the vertical channels into horizontal channels so that the heel can rest against something.
