This works great with my DirectV receiver. It wasn't easy finding the codes to control the volume and power on my Vizio TV, even online. Very important: I could not connect this new remote control to the box. I tried everything, watched YouTube videos, surfed the web, but the box did not respond to this remote control. I started to think that the old remote was never bad and was just a box. I even called directv tech support and they couldn't get it to work so they sent a tech to my house to replace the box. When the technician showed up, he got the console working. He said what happens if your last remote is set to RF instead of IR, you have to go into settings and manually switch from RF to IR (via the front of the box) and then switch BACK to IR with the new remote in pairs . I couldn't believe that was all. The technology was great and he said it was fine. He said that since they mostly deal with Genie boxes these days, their tech support doesn't usually know how to program these remotes. Good to know for the future, although it could have saved me a lot of time and headaches.
