I had to return my first one as I thought it was defective. Every time I tried to set it up, the device would time out after it connected to my wifi, even though I could see in my router settings that it was connected. After much searching and a lot of frustration, I finally figured out how to do this, turned off the router, set up a Wi-Fi hotspot on the phone with the same name and password as the router, and used a separate phone to set up the device. Then disable your broadband, reconnect your router and reconnect your broadband once it starts. It will automatically reconnect to your router as it is the same username/password and should show as online, this worked for me. with over 20 devices in my network and "special characters" in the password. Hope this helps someone who was frustrated like me, this is a great little device when it works.
