Almost Big Enough: Accessory

This specific Toyota Highlander seat cover is not listed as a compatible seat. However, I saw a few posters that said they worked well, so I took a chance. The lids fit side to side about 1/2 inch less in the summer and about an inch this winter which is colder than usual. However, they are certainly serviceable and I have no intention of returning them. Construction is solid, material is as advertised (note PU leather is NOT leather; it is what remains when the top layers are peeled off; it is used as a backing for polyurethane PU fabric). In fact, I prefer polyurethane seat pads as I think they hold up better than leather and are certainly a lot cheaper, although they will expand and contract more than "real" leather. The covers have a pair of plastic "flying saucers" on the rear edge which are used to hold the cover in place - they fit in the space between the backrest and the bottom of the seat - keep this in mind when you decide to remove the covers! They also have an elastic strap on the front with a metal hook to prevent the case from slipping back. I thought I was missing a hook but I checked the package again and found it was folded. The rubber band is quite stretchy and shouldn't offer much resistance, but I haven't had any problems with the cases slipping off. The pocket formed by the sides of the cover keeps it in place on the seats it fits. With the Highlander, I just keep pushing one way or the other. I also like the front pocket. The bottom line is a great value for vehicles listed as compatible. They're a pretty good deal for larger vehicles. For the price I'm satisfied. Your mileage may vary.
