Review on CURT 18100 Aluminum Tray Hitch Cargo Carrier: 60 x 20-Inch, 500 lbs Capacity, Foldable 2-in Shank for Added Convenience by Mark Sharma

I had my doubts about the claims that the wearer could support 500 pounds and they were reinforced when I inspected the product. I originally wanted to convert it to a motorcycle/hybrid truck, but it's not really hard at all. After rearranging the parts for a few minutes, I decided to combine the basket parts and some of the reinforcements and create a smaller cargo carrier that will carry a 300lb load to suit my current needs, as well as the foldable one Tow hitch to use for other projects. The product is made in China, which is fine (we kinda made it for ourselves), but I'm pretty sure Kurt is just reselling the product or paying for the name since it's not the characteristically over-the-top one, that can be found in other Curts products. Products made in the USA. For example, the aluminum basket is made of inferior aluminum, and the welding of the aluminum parts is of poor quality. I very much doubt it will hold up to 500 pounds without bending or breaking. The supplied fasteners (nuts and bolts) are of poor quality, washers are missing. Directions are ok.
