I went from Logitech 623's which are high performance THX speakers to these (my dog chewed the cables on my THX speakers) so I doubted they would either would come close to matching what I had. The reason I wanted them was the ability to connect to my laptop via Bluetooth, so I could leave the headphone jack open for headphones (and not have to pull them out to alternate them). I was very disappointed to learn that when using Bluetooth for audio there is a lag that is noticeable. Movies and TV shows were out of sync by about half a second. In any case, I had to use a stereo jack, which defeats the purpose I bought the speakers for. Also, the speakers seemed very muffled out of the box on the default setting. The bass was overwhelming and the mids and highs were just terrible. I've been searching and searching for a way to fix this. In the end, I was relieved to find that my laptop came with Sonic Studio 3. It allowed me to adjust bass, treble and voice, and it also had a built-in equalizer. Playing around with the EQ to boost the mids and highs and roll off the bass, I was pleasantly surprised by these speakers. The sound is good and they are very loud and have a lot of punch. The most annoying washer to adjust things. It seems convenient, but in reality it is not. In general, the speakers suited me after setup, but I'd like to be able to use Bluetooth (and if you're just listening to music, then they're fine for that over Bluetooth). You only notice that when you watch TV with them. For the price, they're worth it, but there are trade-offs.
