I use my Tormek to sharpen small knives and this Blackstone seems to cut stainless steel a bit faster than regular stone and doesn't seem to be sharpened as often as regular stone. However, I see a lot of rocks in the water bowl and it seems like the rock won't last longer than regular rock. When sharpening the heels of knives that have already been resharpened, Blackstone cuts heavy heels and minute gouges in the stone with ease. It seems to take less time to craft a few knives with Blackstone than with regular stone. Blackstone's performance on stainless steel knives is great, but I wish the stone would last noticeably longer than a regular stone.
