Review on Mount Flex Adhesive Base 1 Inch by Brad Mastermind

I love this product. I have a Coleman Bass Classic 10 and would like to minimize the number of holes I make in the case if possible. A common problem, as anyone with a similar plastic case will tell you, is that it's difficult to find something that reliably sticks to it. It does. Glue is great. However, the strength of the ball joint leaves a lot to be desired. I use a Lowrance Elite 4x on a boat. This is a small and lightweight unit. I will not ship a boat with a device attached to the ram mount for the same reason I will not ship it with a bow mounted trolling motor as this would reduce the life of the mounts. Anyway, last Monday was my sixth trip with the base horizontal on the outside of my boat. Space is a commodity on a small boat so putting it there was perfect. I loosened the nut on the screen adjustment lever, tightened it again, and when I released it, the unit flew off to the side. Upon examining it, I saw that the stem had separated from the sticky base. Luckily a piece goes through the middle of the stem into a ball that keeps it from falling into the pond I was fishing in. So far this has been the perfect solution to save space on my small boat. Very disappointed. I would have expected better quality from Ram. I find 2 stars almost too much, but I hope I just received a defective device. Every other piece of Ram gear I've used on my boats and kayaks has been top notch so I certainly give them the benefit of the doubt.
