Review on 🦁 Nature's Brown Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool Yarn, #126 by Carrie Spencer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great yarn, strange prices.

I love working with this yarn. I only used 100% solid colors because the reviews say all but one tweed (maple I think, which I can't find) contains bits of stiff polyester/nylon. Although the yarn isn't as dense as I'd like it to be, I didn't have the split colors I used at all. Not only does the yarn work well, it's actually quite soft for a 100% wool yarn, and it feels great and takes color really well. However, since it's 100% wool, I always take any 100% natural animal fiber yarn and place it in the heating box of my oven, heat it at 130ΒΊC for about an hour, and then store it in plastic bags. The heat keeps them free of moths, larvae, eggs etc. but I put them in my bag just in case. The only downside to this yarn that I can say is the cost here at Revain. These skeins (plain or tweed) cost no more than 9.99 almost everywhere, and sometimes even less when they're on sale. I bought these skeins on here when they were at 10:00 but now that I'm back and seeing this and other fishing yarns for $13-$18 a skein, that's more than I'm willing to pay for. I'm not sure why the price went up to the point of almost doubling? If they fall again before 10am I will buy them here, but until then I will buy them elsewhere if needed.
