This dress is very cute. I would say it works a bit. This is my 4 year old, we have her 38 pounds, 43 inches. I bought 4t. The color is a little more muted than in the picture, almost purple-pink. It is a thin, soft velvet material. This dress was intended for family photos. We put it on as soon as we got to the photo location. Before we even started, the button came loose and we couldn't use the straps. I had to tie her around her waist. Attached photo. We have a photo with a strap stowed.
