This is a good, handy microscope for the home. If you take that with three lenses, it's much more useful for everyone. Remember that a microscope is a precision instrument that requires a high level of quality to really be what it should be. So when you're paying $100 or less for a microscope, you have to understand that it can't compete with instruments that cost many times that. With that in mind I think this is a wonderful product for the price. It really ramps up to higher and higher levels as you switch between lenses. Is 100X really 100 likes? Probably not, so what. If it's 80x, is that a deal breaker? It raises A LOT, just let it be the last word. The construction is solid and the case is good for storing the tool in when not in use. My complaints are: The focus knob is too small. The gear ratio on the grip changes focal length too quickly, making it difficult to get the exact focus you want. This does NOT make it impossible. Also the included flashlight is not LED and throws rings and shadows like a 1970's flashlight. Besides, it's a big and uncomfortable thing. It is best to use a smaller, more discreet and more powerful lamp with soft LED lighting. The good news is that you can remove all of this and use your own light if you wish. Those things aside, I would have to give this scope high marks overall. It will definitely serve the purpose it was created for which is machine shop, home workshop, home schooling and general home use. It won't cure cancer, but it will allow you to extend your reach and get more done with its comfortable form factor and powerful, clear magnification. I have and am happy. I recommend.
