Poor hearing not worth the headache

When I first got this plug and play USB mic it didn't work. I've tried troubleshooting, I've tried unplugging and plugging it back in, I've tried plugging it into a different USB port. Windows recognized it and saw it was there, it just didn't make a sound. So I tried it on another PC and finally got it working, and finally I got it working on my laptop. My analog interchangeable mic, headset mic and the mic built into my laptop work fine and then all of a sudden this jounivo jv603p can't hear anything again and I have to start over, troubleshoot, unplug and plug it back in. on and let it run again. Once it's working again I assume it's working if I actually want to use it and then when I want to use it I usually have to spend half an hour trying to get it working again. The amount of sound this mic picks up is underwhelming compared to my wired mics and my laptop's built-in mic, even at 100% mic level. If I can find out the cause and fix it if it stops working again, I'll update my review. That being said, I've come across exactly one plug and play USB device in my life that didn't work when I plugged it in, and that was this device. I was disappointed the day I received this product and it continues to frustrate me on a regular basis. The way Windows describes this hardware includes audio endpoint, generic audio endpoint, generic USB audio. in the driver information, Windows reports that the driver files for this device are not needed or have not been downloaded. The manufacturer's website does not provide driver, troubleshooting, or support information for this product. 02032021 UPDATE: Worked fine last day and Cortana responded to WIN+C with no problem this morning. I tried this afternoon and it didn't work so I checked and it wasn't the default device because I plugged in a USB sound card so I made it the default device again. I noticed on the sound panel that there was a green bar at the bottom, but there was no hesitation or no sound detection. although the HD webcam microphone, the analog wired microphone and the built-in laptop microphone recognized sound and worked properly. In this particular case, I was able to fix the problem by standing behind the laptop, fiddling with the cables, unplugging the USB mic, waiting 10 seconds, then plugging the USB mic back in like it was a 2003 modem. Regardless of the default devices or disconnecting or connecting other audio devices with a microphone, the HD webcam, built-in microphone and wired microphone work unlimitedly without any problems. However, this USB mic keeps randomly stopping working, forcing me to apparently unplug it, power cycle it, which worked this time but may not work every time. Big. No hardware or configuration changes. Tried to do a voice command this afternoon but it didn't work and Cortana reported that the mic was muted. Not only was the microphone enabled and set by default, but I was able to see the audio input and hear it through the speech mixer, even though the audio panel and windows didn't show any audio. In this case, I was able to get Cortana to hear me by muting and then unmuting the microphone. UPDATE 02062021: So I used Cortana again and she didn't hear me. The funny thing is that the audio showed up in the sound settings and in the sound controls, but Cortana reported that the mic was muted even though the mic was on. Of course at that point I was ready to pack the box and send this gift I had received back to where it came from, but as it turns out the return period ended three days ago. in this particular case i disabled and re-enabled jounivo jv603p several times and also unplugged it and plugged it into another usb port and restarted my computer. While audio detection seemed to randomly disappear and returned to the sound panel and audio settings, I still have to get Cortana to hear me to this day. Every time I click the mic or click Windows, Cortana replies that the mic is muted and enables your input device in the Windows sound settings.
