I bought this tester mainly because I use a copper/silver ionizer for disinfection. This system requires precise measurements to keep copper levels within 0.3-0.5 ppm. Local pool shops cannot test copper, and copper test strips are useless. The same applies to branded test kits on the market. I read reviews from others complaining about not being able to get the unit to work so in desperation I sold them cheap on Craigs or Ebay. I took advantage of this and bought a new "Return to Store" for $50. After many failed attempts to get it to read tests, I came close to smashing it with a hammer. Despite following the instructions both online and in the included manual, I couldn't get it to work. Until I accidentally found the problem. The Select Test section says Select Test and then Reset Counter. IT is silent. WAITING. until the display shows "Synchronization successful" in small red letters. This may take a few seconds. Once you see this on the screen, continue with the rest of the steps and you should be good to go. I have been using this unit for over 2 years now and have been able to keep my pool well balanced and crystal clear with copper. the value is right in the middle at 0.4 ppm. I don't use chlorine or a stabilizer so I can't comment on these tests but TA CA PH and CU give very accurate results compared to pool shop results. The Android app's interface is a bit flimsy, but I haven't had any issues with the Bluetooth connectivity. .Hope this all helps.
