Wrong size, best for women

I wear 8 1/2 inches in every adidas shoe so I ordered these nine in case they are too small! The inner strap on the slide shows our size 7 and the bottom one shows a size 9. I am very confused about the size difference and the tag is attached to the strap with string. I doubt their authenticity.
