This Ninja is replacing my old Ninja coffee bar. My old one had just the drip coffee option for small cups up to a full carafe and an attached milk frother wand. This new one has those things plus the added feature of the Nespresso pods to make espresso drinks. This is my favorite feature personally. While I do drink regular drip coffee, especially if my husband or guests are also drinking some, my regular morning go to is the espresso. I take a 14oz cup filled 3/4 with ice, choose the brew over ice option for the pods. This only brews a small serving, so I keep the same pod in and just run it again but on the lungo setting. This will fill the cup with liquid about 1/3-3/4 and some of the ice will melt. I then top with a few oz of cold milk and flavored coffee creamer. When you want to brew another you just lift the lid where you put the pod, and the old pod drops down into the used pods container. This can hold around 10-12 used pods I think. When its full you can just slide it out and empty into the trash and rinse out. The stand for your cup is attached to the front of this container and has adjustable heights to accommodate different size cups. The drip coffee maker works like most others. You can use cone size 4 filters or buy a reusable basket. You brew directly into a carafe and can set the size with a turn dial. One thing I like about this unit is the large water capacity and that the tank is more on the back than the side like my old one. The lid is also really easy to take off to fill. I leave the tank in place and fill from my pull out faucet from the kitchen sink. Overall I like this over my old ninja and it has permanently replaced it.
