A new platform stuffed into my ten year old case. It's been so long since I built a slot machine. Yes, I build them very well (in the "value for your money" sense) so that they last a long time. I got Star Wars Battlefront for Christmas 2018 and couldn't play it on my old platform (Athlon II, Radeon HD6870, Gigabyte AM3+ motherboard) so it's time to upgrade my hardware. Well, it actually took me a year to get around it. I built this car in January 2020. Gigabyte's new board is attractive and has enough features and expandability for my simple needs. I just added RAM, GPU (a factory overclocked XFX Radeon590 Fatboy) and a SB Audigy FX sound card (which I really didn't need - that's another story) along with an AMD Ryzen7 3700X. (unlocked) and 16GB of the fastest DDR4 memory I could get my hands on (Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 4400MHz). This board does everything I need. It makes me want to buy a new case with windows, hook up some LEDs and light it up so I can show off how beautiful it is. Again, this is good value for money. Sorry for all the geek stuff. ;-)
