Received this gem just a few hours ago. I turned off my computer and connected all my peripherals. Then I turned on the computer. I used electricity to power all devices. After turning on the computer, allow it to install drivers. I have three printers connected, a USB stick, an iPad charger, a wireless presentation device and a dashboard black box for driving. And I turn on my wireless jam speaker and it charges. And a wireless bluetooth dongle. While all devices work. I have four devices left and will be plugging in some hard drives and flash drives. The blue light is nice, the connection cable is short but I'm using it on a laptop so I don't care. If you find the light is too bright, just cover it with a dark towel and it will help you not see the light. I haven't used it at night yet. You can also disable just a block that isn't being used. I tested the printers and printed from all three at the same time with no problems. The flash drive performed better than when plugged directly into the computer. The update comes in March. The update still works two years later.
