Review on General Tools 71264 Grommet Grommets by Michael Glassburn

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value, grommets could be better

I got a 1/2" shim kit - it does what it's supposed to do but the quality is so-so. , cheap gasket kit I recommend. Just note this is not a high quality kit. So if the Aesthetics is important you need something else Nice they warp a little I doubt they are actually brass I suspect they are gold plated aluminum The punch is not very sharp and you have to be really hard to cut slamming. That the punch is too short and has to be used with a socket tool as an extension is not very practical, you need a better punch if you do this often. The kit includes the following parts: Socket tool - used for the top of the socket used with an anvil underneath. This tool fits. Used as an extension for a hole punch - hole punch. The punch is very short (too short to use alone) but the sleeve tool can al s extension can be used. It's not a very good punch - it's not very sharp so you have to hit it really hard with a hammer. I didn't sharpen it as all I had to do was make a few holes - An anvil to put under the bushing. This tool is fine. Small block of wood. This is a complete joke and I threw it in the bin right away, you need something bigger. - eyelets. They do their job, but they're not good metal - they don't sting well. I think they could be brass plated aluminum instead of real brass.

Pros
  • COVER RINGS: Anvil and installation tool have line codes for each grommet size so you can quickly select which grommets you need for your project. For added comfort and safety, the device has a knurled body.
