Review on Gutter Mount for Arlo & Reolink Solar Panels: Ideal for Enhanced Solar Panel Placement (1-Pack, White) by Alan Pfeiffer

Can be a little tricky to install

I bought it to install a solar panel. Considering I was two flights up the extension ladder, this item could have been a little easier to install. The bracket itself is very easy to install on the gutter as it just needs to be placed over the edge of the gutter and two screws tightened. The problem lies in the adjustable hinge that the solar panel screws into. The adjustable swivel consists of five parts (nut, bolt/screw, two halves and swivel bracket). The bolt/screw isn't long enough to allow the pivot bracket to be removed (to attach it to the base of the solar panel) without the rest of the adjustable hinge falling apart completely. If the bolt/screw were just a few turns longer, I could remove the pivot bracket between the two halves, screw it into the base of the solar panel, and then put the pivot bracket back in between the two halves before tightening the bolt/screw in place the swivel bracket between the two halves. If instead of mounting a large solar panel I was just mounting a small camera (which I can easily hold in one hand) I would just screw the camera onto the swivel mount without taking it apart. As for the "ratings", I can't comment yet on how weatherproof this item is as I've only had it for about a week. I just hope it doesn't rust. It just doesn't work for motion detection. This is a mount, not a camera. Finally, I didn't use any technical support, apart from the sticker-sized installation guide, which consists of four pictures and almost no words.
