I have an SD card slot in one of my laptops but not in another. Because of their size and functionality, I like to use memory cards (instead of adapters) whenever possible. I use this adapter's USB port to connect an SD card to a computer that doesn't have a slot. This adapter accepts SD, Micro SD and CF cards. I tested both SD and Micro and they work very well; I don't have CF. I get the impression people think memory cards are just for photos, but that's not the case. I don't actually use mine for pictures at all; just data, and this adapter makes everything so much easier.
