Review on Insignia NS DCC5HB09 Camcorder Definition Widescreen by Ronny Prather

This little guy is amazing!

I bought this camera from Best Buy a few years ago and really just used it for a different purpose. I've never kept it in a suitcase. I left it in the car in the sun. I let the kids use it. That thing is a tank! The new model is all plastic and has better specs, it sucks compared to this one. My first one ruined me for good, so I immediately bought another one. I got a brand new one for $40! Here's why I like it: 1. In good light, it takes incredibly high quality shots. Much higher resolution than even 5MP.2. It records to SD.3. Features a lithium-ion battery that lasts forever and is easy to find backups for.4. It's 1/3 the price of a flip video, but it's 10x better because it upscales, records to SD, and takes photos.5. It writes in avi and not in a codec unknown to the computer.6. It's very well built. The new model is all plastic and looks like the viewfinder is about to snap off, but this one is very solid and is mostly metal. Has some manual focus settings.8. Photos and videos match what you see in the viewfinder. With some cheap cameras, your photos will look good when you take them, but when you look at them later, they'll be blurry or out of focus. Here's why it's cheap: 1. No optical zoom. (digital zoom just pixelates everything)2. Needs lots of light. It tries to adapt to low light but has to sacrifice a few megapixels and color quality. Slow shutter speed. If you are taking a group shot, press the button at count 1 and it will finally be captured when you get to 3.4. The microphone is on the back, not the front. The operator is heard very well, but his objects are not. You won't find a better camera for less than $150. Ideal for adults and children of all ages. If it breaks (which is pretty hard to do), it's very cheap to replace. Everyone should have one of these.
