It seems to have been a bad batch of watches that stopped ticking
I bought this pocket watch about two years ago for use on trains. The movement stopped a few hours after the second winding when the watch stopped; a slight shake was enough to get the balance going again. He did this two more times and I asked for a replacement which Gotham shipped the next day. It looks like there was a bad batch of them that stopped ticking, but the replacement has been running ever since.
