Large toy for a Giant Dog

Our EM loves this toy. We do not let her play with it if she takes it to her bed - that's where destruction normally begins. She seems to like the way the wings flap against her when she shakes it back and forth. The beak and head (horn?) area are gnawing points. It is fairly heavy so does not "soar" if you throw it.Wings aren't super thin, but do not seem to contain any stuffing. If you have the TRex toy, this would be a bit larger, but in the same general constuction.I would think any determined dog could ruin this toy, but you just have to watch your dog with this the same as any other. Lasts longer than those cutsey $5 toys that some people are able to let their pets have. She was unable to destroy it in the normal 5-10 minute window most toys become garbage, so I'm happy! It is also pretty cute as far as dog toys go.5/8/12- Item is still in tact!8/14/12-still in tact, but the horn on the head and the beak are showing chew wear.7/1/13- I had to toss this item in the trash yesterday. Only the beak and head were damaged, but Mama decided to "eat" the beak and horn. I took this away out of concern she would ingest too much of the cloth and have problems. As a reference, almost all beak was gone and horn was completely missing, but the rest of the body was in GREAT SHAPE.

Pros
  • Its unique shape and design make it exciting for dogs to play with and explore
Cons
  • The toy may not be suitable for high-energy dogs who require constant stimulation and exercise
