We have been using this radio daily for several weeks. This is not an error. Battery consumption is what you would expect. The battery was fully charged and ready to use when we received the radio. We plugged in a rechargeable battery (it doesn't come connected and charged from the factory) and started getting weather forecasts and disturbances. Later I turned it off and added disposable batteries. They also worked well. I drained the battery and used the grip for five minutes. He played for 30 minutes without turning off the power completely. We bought a 12 volt charger. (The device is not included). AM, FM, good. Satisfactory SW reception with the supplied antenna. For better RF reception, buy your own antenna or make one yourself. We can get 1 out of 7 weather channels. It provides weather reports for the region. I haven't set any alerts or used solar, so I can't comment on these features. All in all a good buy. Very happy.
