I try to live a humble and simple lifestyle and my kitchen reflects that. I prefer to have the gear I need, balancing price and functionality and generally ignoring aesthetics. Little things like measuring spoons, basic utensils, etc. are definitely out of fashion in my kitchen. However, every once in a while you can find a kitchen gadget that costs a few bucks more but is worth every penny. This funnel is such a product and I wish I had bought it sooner. I use it regularly, usually to pack 1 liter cans of various soups for freezing. It's perfect for pouring everything from hearty stews to broths in any size glass jar, regular or wide-mouthed. I was concerned that I might warp or melt from the heat as I usually pour hot soups, but I had no problem with that. The top of the funnel is big enough to fit in my largest bucket so there is less dripping. It's a lot less messy. My countertop stays clean and the thoughtful design prevents food from getting dirty as the inside edge doesn't touch the countertop. The clearance counter is accurate and helps prevent overfilling, so there are no more crashes from expanding the freezer. Best of all, it's easy to clean and has no hard-to-reach nooks and crannies to clean. I've washed it in the dishwasher many times, top shelf, no problem. It is an essential item for anyone who fills, freezes or uses jars for any type of food storage.
