Ordered size XS for my 12 year old daughter who is of average build and wears size 12-14 children's trousers. They're perfect for her, plus they're so stretchy I'm sure they would still fit if she was smaller or taller. She loves them very much, especially the unexpected yellow-gold color of the stripes, which differs from all the other skaters on the rink who have them in blue, pink or purple. My other daughter is 9 and probably a little smaller (wears an 8-10 in her pants) has medium length pants. They're a bit long on her but can bunch up and not pull when she's skating. She likes them too. The pants are very stretchy, but feel very durable because the stretch doesn't wear out as quickly. Excellent quality!
