I have a cat that has had hot spots for a while and I use a soft cone to deal with that she doesn't get torn when she preens. She could still achieve anything with that cone. It has a toggle closure and slightly weak velcro in two places. She managed to pierce the cup, which she had done before. I don't like tying a knot after she got caught on something and nearly choked, so I didn't. She managed to slip her devil through the velcro and chew herself again. It's a shame, because I really liked the more waterproof material.
