Bought with coupons but simply folded the smooth paper between the blades. It was difficult or impossible to cut open the plastic bag or cut through the flimsy packaging from the purchase. Maybe you could cut open a bag of M&Ms or something. I'm not sure if this works with a stream, but I haven't tried it. Not easy to handle even with my small hands, the handles are too short. It would probably be difficult and time consuming to cut a sheet of plain paper and keep the line straight. When I first opened it up and made a small snip or two I was impressed so I put it in my purse.
