Review on Black Audio-Technica ATH-M50X Professional Grade Studio Monitor Headphones with Detachable Cable - Critically Acclaimed by Jagat Buana ᠌

One of the best deals, glad I bought this.

In general, I am very pleased with these headphones. I think the price is somewhat overpriced, especially for the new version of the M-50x (it seems to have taken for 10 something). I doubted for a long time whether to take the old version or the new one. I took a new one, somehow strangling the toad :) Pros below: 1) Sturdy structure and nice appearance. They give the impression of an expensive and high-quality thing. However, the impression is not deceptive, it is pleasant to hold such a thing in your hands. 2) Sufficiently balanced frequency response. With a stretch, you can listen even without equalization. After equalization, you can see that there were humps at 100 Hz, 2.5 kHz and 8 kHz. The bass is excellent, it is not raised relative to the averages (except for 100 Hz) and is not failed, which is actually a rarity. 3) Play from almost any source. Even the smartphone produces an almost acceptable volume. I listen in conjunction with the Fiio E7, the volume is wagon. 4) They sit almost perfectly on my head. Quite light with a tight, but unobtrusive clamp. For people with large or protruding ears, they may not be suitable, the spaces for the ears are back to back. Its cons: There are no disadvantages as such. But everything is relative. And I compare basically in the same conditions with the AKG K550, which I also own. I subjectively like AKG more. It's in terms of sound. 1) It seems that the M-50 has a slightly simpler sound, flatter or something. I'm not an audiophile, but I think so. And this despite the fact that ACGs require much more serious EQ intervention, especially in the bass area. 2) And at the same time, AKG is cheaper. In short, the advice is this, if you don’t want to bother with a 30-band or parametric equalizer and want an acceptable bass from any hole - take the M-50, if you want a more interesting sound, but through dancing with a tambourine, then the AKG K550. 3) I also noticed that the sound seeps out more easily through the M-50. But next to a person in an AKG, you can sit a meter away and not hear anything. AKGs are also much softer and more gentle or something sitting on the head, but they are also heavier and the pressure is weak, which is also not suitable for everyone.
