Review on πŸ”Œ Ampeak Smart Battery Charger/Maintainer 12V - Fully Automatic with 2/10/25A and Engine Start by John Hall

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So far so good - starters, chargers and portable power supplies

Edit: Added some pictures for context.1. Shows the size and what appears on the display when connected2. Terminal clamp - too small for the terminal (if you have a smaller cylinder type it will fit) 3. Pressed against a small part of the terminal (the spring clamping force is really good) 4. Display after connection5. Wide angle for size comparison I've been looking for a new car charger for a long time. My old one eventually broke down and it was a huge pain to find one that had decent reviews and a solid build. So I'll let you know how it compares to my 20 year old charger. * Build Quality * Old: built like a tank - all metal and can take a beating. It is: Plastic - lightweight and likely to break if dropped. Safety features - definitely good * Battery clips * Old: big, heavy springy and easy to plug into plugs New: smaller, plastic/metal and chunky * Pros - it works, out of the box and the display makes it foolproof * Cons - It will probably won't last long, the plastic cover and cheap clips are a real downside and if this digital display breaks every time I'm not sure how it's going to work. In fact, this is what is on the market now. We all know it won't last as long as our old ones and I accepted it. I just hope it lasts 5 years.
