I've been using them for at least 10 years. In my area, a septic tank needs to be pumped out and checked every 5 years. Both times the technicians who carried out the work commented on the condition of my tank. I tell them what I'm using and they basically agree and say to keep using them. So easy to use. Just watch and wash. A measurement is not required. A disadvantage is that mice love to chew on them. Store them in an airtight container (I use a snap-top 'candy box') and no more mouse parties! The good news is that you can beat them at their own game and sprinkle some of that peanut butter powder that you put in the trap and you'll be seeing results in no time. ;)
