I used this silicone skin case while hiking the Appalachian Trail last summer. I attached it to one of the shoulder straps on the outside of the backpack. The clip worked well and my MP3 player NEVER fell out of the silicone case. The silicone skin suffered a catastrophic failure after about 350 miles of my hike. The leather broke and had to be disposed of. 350 miles of daily heavy use isn't bad. You decide whether that's enough for you.
