I recently installed this on my 17 Tacoma and it works fine. The wire positioning blocks from the tailgate to the bottom of the bed are the worst. Don't follow P&L instructions, they apply to Tundra, not Tacoma. I have both sets of wires installed in case I ever remove the tailgate. There are some good Tacoma installation videos on YouTube. Chuck is good. His suggestion of drilling a hole in a block of plastic wire works well. Drill a 1/4" diameter hole and keep it 1/8" from the outside edge. Then make a notch on the 1/8 inch side leading to the hole you drilled with a utility knife or wire cutters. This allows you to bend the plastic to fit the wire into the hole you drilled and then push the plastic back in. Now you can slide the block into place, attach the larger cable (cameras) to the block and reinsert it into the square hole. As another reviewer pointed out, run the cable along the frame, I followed the other cable channel and zipped as I went. (do not fasten until finished). Using the rubber plug under the passenger seat, poke a new hole next to the existing wire and feed the new wire through. I had to tape the new wires with tape and a short (2″) piece of hanger to stiffen them so they would go through the new hole. The connector on the passenger side (on the front panel) that you plug into is green. to green and blue to red. I recommend Lokitt Posi-Taps 20-22 Red (also on Revain) over clamps with P&L kit. A bit noisy when running as the tailgate acts like a drum, but I prefer that - I know it works. I am very happy with it .
