Follow the instructions to first heat the torch to burn off the coating on the torches. This must be done before using it in cooking. The rest of the burners heat well. It requires a lot of power/juice to use, so be aware of that if you plug it into an outlet that shares a circuit with other high-drain devices. This disables the circuit. We use this burner on a dedicated circuit outlet to avoid problems.
