There is a possibility that some of the food will get through the silicone disc and into the base of the handle (see red arrow in the picture), so you need to take a nipple brush or other small brush and clean the small compartment. Is this a deal breaker no just added 5 seconds more washing time but be aware. With all the little additions and the fact that this is a really well made article, it really sets it apart from the rest. Great article.
