My wife has been a hairstylist for many years and thinks Wahl Trimmers are the best. I have had a Wahl beard trimmer that has worked great for me for years. So imagine my surprise when this trimmer started pulling and cutting badly no matter what I did. It put me into exploration mode and I didn't stop searching until I knew why. Pay attention to what I've learned. First, go to the Wahl Home Products website. It's on wahlusa.com. Look at all the products and then don't buy any of them. They are all rubbish. You'll find the same complaints of bad pulling and cutting across all the products you research. I can't understand why Wahl gave these awful products their revered name, but they did. Don't buy this junk. Then go to the Wahl Professional Products website. It's on wahlpro.com. That's where the good things live. As you might expect, the products are quite expensive there, but not all of them. I settled on the Wahl Sidekick trimmer and found it for less than $34 with free shipping at a West Coast cosmetics store. As soon as I tried it I realized that these are the same superb Wahl blades that I have enjoyed for so many years. I expect it to last a long time, just like my old trimmer. If you want something with more bells and whistles than the Sidekick, be prepared to pay more. But buy something with good blades. Buying a cheap trimmer that cuts poorly is not a good alternative.
