I wanted to install an outdoor wall light on a 1920's plastered house wall. This hole saw is 100mm long which is only 4 inches. I was concerned that the hole might not be big enough to fit a 4" pancake box, but it worked great. The shank of the hole saw is not perfectly straight, so it wobbles slightly when cutting, causing the hole to be too large. It was ideal to house the control box. I used a Bosch Bulldog impact drill and it took about 25 minutes to drill a hole through an inch of plaster. It was high up on the wall so I couldn't press down on the instrument. I started the saw for about 30 seconds at a time, then took a 10 second break and worked again. The saw never got too hot so I didn't use water to cool it down. This hole saw certainly doesn't have the same quality as expensive European brands but it did what I needed at a very reasonable price.
