Overwhelmed by Logitech

Preface: I am a music lover and have spent countless years in my father's recording studio listening to some of the best studio monitors. There's no way I'm comparing computer/home theater speakers to a pair of $6,000 Genelec studio monitors, but I have a lot of respect for these Logitech speakers. To be honest I bought these speakers together with a monitor for my PC without expecting much. apart from the fact that they will actually at least be better than the speakers on my TV, which I've been using as a monitor for the longest time. When I received it I quickly set it up and played music from my phone. I was just blown away by the sound quality these speakers produced, even if they weren't placed properly in terms of placement. Once the speakers were properly positioned, I was even more amazed. I ended up turning the volume up about three quarters and was even more surprised that these speakers didn't distort the sound. Since I set them up I use them nonstop on my Macbook Pro instead of my PC and I can even turn off the equalizer in iTunes as I feel these speakers more accurately reproduce the sound. Keep in mind that my rating is based on many variables like my room size, speaker placement, etc. But I have found that with these speakers you need to crank up the bass control (for me I turned it between 1 and 2O). 'Clock) to achieve a smooth low-frequency response and a fuller "full" sound. When setting up your speakers I recommend referring to the image I included with the post and using a song you know well and turning the volume up to your normal listening level and then turning the bass control up to your liking change. I want to stress that placement is one of the most important factors affecting the sound of your system. However, I find these speakers absolutely worth their money. I've used them for listening to music, watching movies, and other audio-related tasks on my computer. There's no doubt that these speakers are THX certified as you'll feel like you're in a cinema when it comes to movies that make reasonable use of the subwoofer. I'm even considering buying another pair to replace the Bose Cinemate GS Series II that sits on top of the TV in my living room as I think this system is better than the Bose. The only downside I can find with this system is that when used on a TV that Logitech says it can be used on, there's no remote control to change the volume or turn the unit off. Using it on a TV may result in having to change the volume manually as most TVs have a fixed audio output rather than a variable one. It's a minor flaw to be honest, as this system is designed for a computer rather than a TV. However, do not hesitate to buy this device. For the price I haven't found anything that can beat it, let alone compare.
