Straight out of the box 3 sockets blocked

Sooooo annoying. I needed a replacement surge protector with a long cord for gigging. Imagine my surprise when I put the first plug into the first socket. clogged. The pins do not fit in the outlet openings. The second outlet was fine. The last two jacks are also blocked. I'm always on the go, so there's no problem with returns. What a waste.
