Too early to tell how durable it is. It did not fit in the vacuum housing without modification. The small locking tabs on the hose connector would not snap into the vacuum cleaner body. This is because the new one (grey in the photo) is deeper than the original one (white in the photo), which prevents the protrusion in the slot from catching on the vacuum cleaner body. To fix this I used a small flat file to enlarge the slot a bit. Now it snaps in nicely. (If you need to do this, just remove a little at a time until it snaps into place.) I expect more from the manufacturer, but Shark no longer makes this part, so buying a new vacuum is an alternative. Vacuum, Shark NV-355 was ok except hose fittings. I have had a vacuum cleaner for over 7 years. About a year ago a small round bracket broke. Shark doesn't make this little clip, which shouldn't cost more than a dollar. I called Shark and even though I didn't have a purchase date, they sent me a brand new vacuum! I might have called Shark and gotten another new vacuum, but that was wrong.
