I have several other Veepeak lights and I love them so much I'm giving them away and encouraging others to order them too. This light is not suitable. The design is excellent. The extruded aluminum body is very elegant. The magnetic mounting bar is great. The light quality is very close to daylight, which makes it very easy to distinguish colors. Trouble sorting black and blue? This light makes it easy. There are two main disadvantages. Older Veepeak models had a simple switch to choose between off, on, full brightness and half brightness. The charge on their older, smaller devices lasts for months. I still use them every day and have for many years. It is extremely difficult to determine what mode you are in with this light. More precisely just movement or movement and a photocell. The instructions state that when you switch modes, you will see either a green or a red LED. I've seen these indicators once and never again. After all, the photocell is extremely sensitive. You must be in almost complete darkness before the photocell will turn on the lamp. UPDATE: I wanted to return this item and ordered two similar units from another seller which I gave away. The other seller's instructions were clearer. Now that I've figured out how to switch between settings, I've decided to keep this light. I placed it over the kitchen sink and set it to turn on automatically when someone comes to the sink. It gives us hands-free light when it's needed and only when it's needed. That was the goal and now we can declare that mission accomplished.
