I've been using the original ULRALOQ U-Bolt Pro for a few years now so I knew what to expect from this new version. It works similar to the old version, but with a WiFi module built into the lock (instead of a separate hub in the wall). It's a nice addition because that was one of the main things I didn't like about it. The lock design is still beautiful and my favorite smart lock design. Although the keyboard/fingerprint reader is loose or lateral and could definitely be firmer. If someone slams the door hard enough, it just swings open. It's great to have a fail-safe one-key manual release, but in all the time I've used the original I've never had to use it. Functionally, the fingerprint scanner is very accurate and almost always reads my fingerprint on the first try, no matter the angle. The door is easy to open with your phone or Google Assistant. It has an automatic unlock feature if you walk to the door with your phone in your pocket, but with the old version and this new, there's about a 30% chance that it'll actually unlock for you. I found I was almost always using my finger to get in. If you're wearing gloves or have some other reason you can't use the fingerprint reader, a PIN code is a great addition. My favorite feature is that you can put random numbers before and after the actual pin number and it will still recognize it and open the door. That way no one can see and see what number you press and remember it next time. It uses standard AA batteries so it's easy to replace, although its lifespan depends on how often you open the door. Plus, you can set up each fingerprint and passcode with names and photos so you can see exactly when each person enters the door. Overall, I really like this smart lock. I just want the auto unlock feature to work 100% every time.
