After using a couple of good Pentax 10X50s for a long time I decided I needed more power. I wanted to try Nikon. I figured the 16X50 would be the biggest pair I could get while staying mobile. When I first used them I thought if I can get this for $180 I'm curious what you can get for $300-400. During the day I can easily see craters on the moon. At the same time, my first impression of the quality was not convincing. They were a little lighter and a little smaller than I expected from a 16X50 pair. The eyecups sometimes want to move up or down unintentionally. Also, very distant objects weren't brought into focus as crystal clear as I had hoped. Other than that, they'll blow any casual user's socks off like me. Very happy with it, I recommend
